Carl Goldstein

Carl Alexander Goldstein has been involved in over 30 feature films, 12 television series and numerous commercials. He has worked with numerous directors such as: John McTiernan, Ivan Reitman, Miles Forman, Sean Penn, Al Pacino, Michael Mann, Frank Oz, Sam Raimi, Michael Cimino, Brian DePalma, Michael O�Herlihy. He just finished the show DOC with Billy Ray Cyrus and his 3rd Season of Big Wolf on Campus. This year VAMPIRE HIGH was aired, in which he was Creative / Visual Consultant as well the director of the pilot plus 3 episodes. The movie for television that he directed, SHADOW LAKE, just received a GEMINI AWARD for best supporting actress. Goldstein began his career in the entertainment industry as a student at the esteemed LE THEATRE DOME in Montreal studying acting and directing for three years. During this time Goldstein had ample opportunity to act in and direct numerous plays. After a successful professional run of the hit play ACCIDENTAL DEATH OF AN ANARCHIST; Goldstein left the theater to pursue his love of film. Having been accepted into Canada�s Premiere Film School at Ryerson Polytechnical in Toronto, he went on to write, direct, and produce several short films including, THE ROCK N� ROLL RABBI which opened at The World Film Festival in Montreal. After moving to Los Angeles in 1989, Goldstein was accepted into UCLA�s Master Directing class under the tutelage of Jeremy Kagan. During this time he directed David Rabe�s HURLY BURLY to great success. Goldstein�s reputation for professionalism and creative vision on feature length productions had landed him Asst. Dir. + 2nd Unit Director. Goldstein has incorporated the �choreography of action� into his own style after working under his mentor John McTiernan. In the arena of Commercials/On-Air Promotions Goldstein directed the Jackie Chan spot BAHNHOF OFFENSIVE as well as the action comedy campaign for CBS� MARTIAL LAW, which was nominated for the 1998 Promax Awards. He also wrote and directed the comedic FALL PREVIEWS for NBC�s SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE and UNSOLVED MYSTERIES, which was nominated for the 1996 Promax Award. Goldstein also directed sequences for and helped create NBC�s �Must See TV� campaign and worked directly with cast members from the entire NBC Prime-Time line-up; FRIENDS, ER, FRAISER, SEINFELD, EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND.
